- September 1997 – Government Payment Service incorporates in the State of Indiana
- Winter 1997 – Dane County Sheriff, WI, and Will County Sheriff, IL, become first customers
- March 1998 – State of Florida signs contract to process Department of Corrections’ fees – Florida DOC remains one of our most important customers
- Summer 2001 – Footprint expands coast-to-coast. Customers now include Erie County, NY and Portland, OR
- October 2002 – Company is selected as one of The Growth 100 in Indiana (honoring Indiana’s high-potential, high-growth companies)
- October 2003 – Company is selected again for The Growth 100 awards
- October 2004 – Call center capacity is expanded to meet growing demand, including multi-lingual capability
- March 2005 – Company introduces internet payments for consumers
- June 2005 – Company wins RFP for Cook County, IL to process payments county-wide, including the nation’s largest correctional facility
- October 2005 – Company is recognized by the Indiana Entrepreneurial Awards of Distinction
- January 2006 – Introduces Proview, an internet-based reconciliation and payment management system for government agencies
- October 2006 – New investors and senior management with payments processing expertise join the company – advancing it to the next level
- June 2007 – Company’s successful performance in Cook County (Chicago), IL results in multi-year contract renewal
- July 2007 – Introduces new name: GOVernment PAYment EXP, concurrent with the introduction of new state-of-the-art technology that further enhances access, speed, and reporting
